Monarch Gives Governor. Amosun Condition For Re-Election

AMOSUN
A first class Oba in Ogun State, the Olubara of Ibara, Oba Jacobs Omolade has said his people will support the second term bid of the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on conditions that he grants their requests.
The monarch said his people wanted Amosun’s government to take over the only public school in Ibara-Orile, which he said was being funded by the community and give them good roads.
The Olubara, an associate of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, spoke at the commissioning of two science laboratories donated to Ajiboyede Comprehensive High School in Ibara-Orile in Abeokuta North local government area of the state by a former member of House of Representatives, Mr. Lanre Laoshe.

The royal father, who lamented that past governments had abandoned his people in Ibara-Orile, said he believed that Amosun’s second term would consolidate his achievements he had started.
The monarch, who commended the donor for spending about N15 million on the community school through payment of the salaries of the teachers and renovation of some buildings in the school, urged the government to take over the school for more attention.
According to him, ”21 years ago, when I became an Oba, our people clamoured that they wanted a school in Ibara-Orile and after we got it, rainstorm blew off the roof.”
“All Ibara sons and daughters donated to the renovation of the school. The former Chairman of the council, Habib Ajayi did his best, but, when Hon.Lanre Laoshe intervened , he changed the status, he has spent N15 million so far on the school.
“We have begged past governments, they did not respond. I had written to this government twice, the commissioner has promised to assist. I will phone the governor to take over the school.
“This government will do it for us if we vote for it . If we allow Amosun to be re elected, he will give us good roads and schools.
“We will give you our votes if you give us our request, we want this school to be taken over and good roads .
The commissioner for Education, Segun Odubela who commended the donor assured the monarch and the community that the government would take over the school that had been run by the community.
