President Jonathan sacks Adviser on Political Matters Ahmed Gulak

The President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has sacked with immediate effect his Special Adviser (Political), Alhaji Ahmed Gulak.
A terse statement on Tuesday by presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, did not state the reason for the sack.
It simply said: “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has terminated the appointment of his Special Adviser (Political), Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, with immediate effect.
“President Jonathan thanks Alhaji Gulak for his services to the present Administration and wishes him success in his future endeavours.

“A replacement for Alhaji Gulak will be announced in due course.”
Gulak has been in the eye of the storm following his several outbursts against perceived enemies of Jonathan.
The Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Murtala Nyako, has been in the forefront of those canvassing for the sack of Gulak.
The former special adviser hails from Adamawa State and has stridently attacked Nyako, especially since the governor left the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.
