The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has expressed concern over the non-representation of Kwara State in the Peoples Democratic Party’s run Federal Executive Council long after the exit of the former Sports Minister and Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

The APC in a statement in Ilorin, Kwara State on Friday by its Publicity Secretary, Sulyman Buhari noted that it was a contravention of the 1999 Constitution and the principle of equity and fairness, stressing that the rudderless Kwara PDP is so inept and unconcerned by the glaring injustice the PDP-controlled Federal Government is foisting on Kwara State, yet it aspires to govern the state.
“Before anyone will accuse us of meddling in a PDP affair, it is important to emphasise that the issue at stake is about the protection of the interest of Kwara State,” he said.
“It is about ensuring equity and fair representation of our dear state in the Federal Executive Council.
“More disturbing is that PDP leadership in Kwara that finds equal representation a herculean task held a N5billion fund raising in Abuja towards the 2015 elections in Abuja on Tuesday.

“This to us is a show of desperation and blatant lust for power despite the glaring nonchalance towards the interest of Kwarans.

“With the PDP fundraising ceremony held in Abuja, the party is indeed an Abuja party for Abuja politicians. It has simply lost the sympathy it enjoyed from the people of Kwara State as Kwarans are now well informed of the level of disdain the party has for them.

“No amount of external aggression can arrest the level of harmony and peaceful co-existence currently enjoyed by the good people of Kwara State,” concluded the statement.
