The National President of the Nigerian Union of journalist NUJ, Mr Garba Mohammed has charged journalists to assert unwavering zeal and determination in the discharge of their duties, which according to him, would leave beyond their existence on earth.
He gave the charge in Awka, Anambra state capital, at the
laying in state ceremony of the state immediate past chairperson of the NUJ, Mr Tochukwu Omela .
The President, who was represented by the National Secretary
of the union, Mr. Shaubu Usman Leman, condemned the habit where media men would
leave for an immediate gains, according to him does not last longer than
expected.
Shaubu described the late NUJ chairperson as an enigma whose
achievements under her tenure as the chairman of the Nigeria Union of
Journalists Anambra state chapel already speak for her and would remain
indelible in the minds of all.
In their separate eulogy to the late media icon, the Deputy
National Chairman South, Mr. Chris Isiguzo, Abia state chairman of the Union, Mr. Hycent
Okoli and their Anambra state counterpart, Mr. Henry Nwasike praised the women
for her zeal to uplift the union to an enviable height in the south Eastern
zone of the country.

missed her so much that they have fashion out ways on their own to
immortalized the late pen giant.
