Anambra State House of assembly has charged local government
authorities in the state to come up with innovative programmes that would improve their Revenue Generation system.
The House committee on tenders board gave the advice while
on oversight exercise to Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra state, stating that over dependence on Federal and State
allocation may not provide the LG required development stride they might want to
achieve..
The chairman of the committee, Chukwuemeka Kenechukwu
advice the council chairman Idemobi Emmanuel, to place priority on
investor friendly programmes that would increase the council revenue generation
system and engender sustainability of the LG financial system.
The legislators in their different contributions though
discovered some lapses which would hinder improved revenue generation at the council
area, but quarried the mode by which financial transactions are being carried out without recourse to due
compliance with the state procurement act.
