Concern Ekiti Residents Call For Governor Fayemi's Probe

Members of the Ekiti Young Professionals (EYP), a group of young professionals from the state scattered all over the country, have called on the governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose, to probe the administration of Kayode Fayemi, saying that Ekiti youths will not forgive him if the allegations that the incumbent used the meagre allocations of the state to build a magnificient university in Ghana, apart from having housing estates in the ...country, were true. At a press conference held in Lagos, on Wednesday, at the conference room of In-House Entertainment office at Olateju, Oshodi, Mr Ayo George, the president of the body, said EYP had been following reports from the state and was suspicious of the closed door meeting Fayemi held with Fayose on Monday, at the state house. "We hope it was not to keep under the carpet contentious issues, especially the siting of a university funded by our state, in another country," he said.
Fayemi has empowered more people in Lagos and Ghana than we in Ekiti. A lot of Ekiti youths are struggling to make decent living, while our governor has created employment for others with our money. His government should be probed," George insisted.
George, who used the conference to congratulate Fayose for his outstanding performance and eventual victory at the election, said EYP had predicted Fayose's victory several weeks ago when, during a press conference in Ibadan, it had given 21 reasons why the former Ekiti governor would return as governor again.
"At this point in the history of our state, it is only Fayose that has the zeal and passion to do what has not been done by anyone in the state. Fayemi bungled his goodwill when he pandied to the wishes of the man in Bourdillon at the expense of we Ekiti people that supported his ambition back then. There were lots of pretenders in the polity but the youths and other Ekiti stakeholders have spoken. Now that Fayose is in the saddle, he has to do what is expected of him by bringing back what fake progressives have stolen from us", he added.
