Ekiti 2014: My victory is certain – Bamidele

Opeyemi Bamidele
One of the three frontline candidates in Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, of Labour Party, has said that he would emerge victorious in the race.
Bamidele expressed this assurance in a goodwill message sent to his teeming supporters across the length and breadth of Ekiti State, just as they move into the election proper in less than 24 hours.
He said his hope of a landslide victory in the poll was hinged on God’s purpose and unflinching popularity he enjoys among Ekiti State voters over the years.
He equally appreciated them for their supports and urged them to conduct themselves peacefully during the election, with a call on them to report any act of electoral fraud to law enforcement agents.
While commending the conduct of the operatives of the Nigeria Police, the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps deployed to ensure peace during the election, he also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission for its planned free and fair exercise.
According to the message: “This is to thank our teeming supporters across the state for their unflinching supports so far, and we want to reiterate our hope to win tomorrow’s election with a clear margin. We trust in you ordinary people of Ekiti and the unfailing purpose of God in making this happen at the end of this election.
“Our longtime relationship with ordinary people in Ekiti which prides us as the best in the race is our strongpoint that will work in our favour at the election. I urge you all to report any act of electoral offences to security agents while you conduct yourself in a peace manner during and after the election.
“So far, we have observed keenly and decided to commend all ongoing efforts of the security men deployed to maintain peace including the preparations made by INEC ahead of tomorrow’s poll.
“As a leader, I promise not to betray the trust you have put in our team after you might have voted us to office. May God take us to the promise land together and grant us the wisdom to salvage the sinking ship of Ekiti.”
