Obi Congratulates Fayose

The former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, CON has congratulated Mr. Ayo Fayose on his victory at the Ekiti State Gubernatorial election conducted over the weekend. According to Obi, “the victory of Mr. Ayo Fayose is yet another testimony that democracy is taking roots in our country. The people have spoken; the preferred candidate has won.”

He adds that “occasions like this provide an opportunity for Nigerians to thank President Goodluck Jonathan for his commitment to democracy, which has seen us move rapidly from the era of victory through electoral malpractices to victory through the choice of the people.”

Obi also congratulated Gov. Kayode Fayemi for conceding victory and congratulating the winner, describing it as a rare demonstration of statesmanship that politicians need to emulate.
“Ekiti people also deserve special congratulations for their abiding faith in democracy,” Obi concluded.
