Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday shunned South-west sensitisation mega rally of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

President Goodluck Jonathan who was represented by Mr. Ayodele Fayose, governor-elect, Ekiti State, led the rally round the city without Obasanjo in attendance.
While speaking at the rally, President Jonathan’s representative, Fayose, declared that the party would not go back to the era of imposition of candidates, as was the case in the past.
He said imposition had done great disservice to the party’s fortunes in the recent past, but promised that Gbenga Daniel, Jubril Martins Kuye and other aggrieved chieftains would be pacified to return to the party.
Meanwhile, the event witnessed the welcoming of House of Representatives member representing Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, Hon. Abiodun Akinlade back to the party.
Akinlade, who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP, explained why he left the latter.
Akinlade, who is the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology yesterday formally returned to the PDP.
