Anambra Police Command Cautions Protesting Anglican Faithful At Nkwelle Ezunaka

The Anambea State Commissioner of police, Mr. Usman Gwary has cautioned protesting worshipers of Ebenizer Anglican Church, Nkwelle-Ezunaka community in Oyi Local Government Area. to desist from the act and register all complains, grievance, memoranda to the panel set up by the government.
He gave the charge at the command headquarters Awka, promised to resist any further move by the Anglican faithful to continue the protest against the government position laid down to solve the problem.

He cited the executive governor Chief Willie Obiano's intervention at he wake of the incident, where hepersonalty visited the scene of the demolition site with him, there he contistitued a panel, headed by the deputy governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke to report back to the governor under two week. 
 His Word, ''The Government has set up a panel headed by the deputy governor, and that he has given specific instruction that the panel will work day and night and come with their findings within two weeks, everybody was there, and the church elders were there, I expect and I advised  that they should be patient and processed their grievances through the proper channel by forwarding it to the panel set up by the government ''. 
He Said further ""  It is not the best for them to go about on the public highway,trying to infringe on the right of others who want to use the highway,  where your freedom stops, that is where another person starts, So Please, it is my advice that they should calm down and not take the laws into their hands''.. 
 The commissioner said though, the command had decided not to harass them but henceforth, such freedom would no longer be allowed in the interest of the entire public.
He reiterated that the it was a problem within the community, the school authority and the church, and th e government has decided to mediate, but urged them to allow government to handle the crisis on their behalf. 
It would be recalled that on 14th August, 2014.some suspected hoodlums came around 11.00 p.m and demolished  Ebenezer Anglican Church, Oyolu-Oze, Nkwelle–Ezunaka community in Oyi Local Government Area of the state.
The protesters, who included members and priests, marched through Old Market, New Market, Old Cemetery, New Cemetery, Oguta and Awka roads, as well as other major streets, causing untold gridlock within the metropolis.
