Her intention to declare for senate, after serving her constituence, Njikoka, Dunukofia and Anaocha Federal Constituency for two consecutive tenures and thought she should move higher and allow up coming aspirants to have space in the state political sphere has been regarded as a true reflection of a good leader.

Dr. Chris Ngige, will both join her in the ring for supremacy, but one thing is sure that, even as a federal representative, Honourable Ekwunife has done more than some state executives that have had full eight years in office who have nothing to show for the people they governed.
Political permutation once again proved that Honourable Ekwunife, strongly enjoys the support of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, alongside his wife, Chief Mrs. Patience Jonathan, and the duo would rather support who they have had dealing with and someone they might not loose faith in half way into the new administration as the present national assembly has not fully supported the presidency as it were.
Anambra central coalition of stakeholders had on 13th of September, 2014, at De-Geogold Hotel Awka, unanimously endorsed the candidacy of Chief Mrs. Uche Ekwunife to extend what she is currently doing in her constituency to the entire Anambra Central senatorial district come 2015.
