PDP Reconciliation Move Ends In Fiasco In Anambra

There was confusion at the Emmaus House, Anambra state venue of a reconciliation meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, Anambra state chapter on Thursday when the former Chairman of the party, Ahmadu Ali led Integration Committee from Abuja scampered for safety following the fracas that disrupted the meeting.

No life was lost, however there was massive turn out as who is who in Anambra state Peoples Democratic Party, attended the parley.
However, trouble started when a factional chairman, Mr Ejike Oguebego was invited to address the gathering and after introducing himself as the state chairman , heaven was let loose.
There was shouts of no, no, no from the crowd.
However, attempt by Chief Ken Emeakayi, also laying claim as state chairman to calm down nerves was greeted by more disapproval as party members equally shouted him down.
Consequently, men and women from the opposite camps crowded in front of the visitors table, and soon followed, shuffling  and pushing as the crowd ran to the exit door which was secured locked.
All efforts by other members of the Ahmadu Ali committee to the return sanity and order among the opposing camps fail on dear ears, while chairs were flying.
Meanwhile the timely intervention of large number of security personnel saved the situation, just as the guided members of the committee from Abuja headquarters of PDP safely out side the venue of the meeting.
Earlier, Emeakayis’ attempt to address the crowd was shouted down, with hissing, whistling and yields of no, no, no.
Most of party members spoken to called for the suspension of both Emeakayi and Oguebego for party to survive and achieve good results in 2015 in Anambra and Nigeria.
