Bishop Advises Obiano to Emulate Obi

The Anglican Bishop of Niger, Rt. Rev. Prof. Anthony Omaezi Nkwoka Westhas advised the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano to follow the footsteps of his Predecessor, Mr. Peter Obi for him to succeed in Anambra State, while commending him for starting well.

Speaking during the 1st Session of the 2nd Synod of the Diocese, at the Cathedral Church of St. Gabriel, the Bishop said the Church would never become tied of commending The former Governor, Mr. Peter Obi for the wonderful partnership with the Church. His words: "We thank the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi, CON not for what he did for Niger West in particular but Christian Legacies of education, health, sound economy for the the State, payment of civil servants(working and retired) and international trust he nurtured that brought a lot of aids and investments to the State."
The bishop who expressed happiness over the way the former Governor remembered those living in the remote part of the State, said that the St. Augustine Maternity & Childcare Centre which the State under Obi and the Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation we're sponsoring was almost completed.
Urging Obiano to remain focused, the Bishop encouraged him to sustain the legacy Obi left, which he enumerated to include political stability, economic sagacity, sound education, partnering with the Mission, social welfare, and healthcare delivery. He cautioned him against waste thus: " study the former Governor Obi's economic stringency that eliminated as possible wastes in Governor's paraphernalia and travelling with a retinue of unnecessary assistants, party contracts awards and the like."
