Igbo Women Drum Support For President Jonathan 2015 Election

Ahead of the 2015 presidential election, an Igbo women socio-political Association, Njiko-Umunwanyi Igbo known also as (Igbo Women Assembly), has thrown their support for the re-election project of President Goodluck Jonathan reports Odogwu Media.

The Group while addressing a press conference at the conclusion of their 21 days fasting and praying in Awka, said that President Goodluck Jonathan had demonstrated endurance and a rare leadership capacity which would guarantee him a re-election in 2015.
 

The press statement read by the Anambra state Coordinator of Njiko-Umunwanyi Igbo (Igbo Women Assembly) , Mrs Ngozi Okafor was co signed by the state Secretary Mrs Ijeoma Ekenyelu ,and Treasurer Mrs Ngozi Anichukwu . Others who signed the document were Mrs Juliana Okafor , the Financial Secretary  and the Nnewi North coordinator , Mrs Uche Okoye.

They said they are also standing behind President Jonathan because their illustrious son and respected  benefactor/Igbo father based on his philanthropy, Prince Arthur Eze ,OFR, (Ozoigbondu), Billionaire Businessman /Oil magnet has asked them to stand by President Jonathan and wife (Mama Peace) the first lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan for a better Nigeria.

Reading the address further the State coordinator of Njiko Umunwanyi Igbo (Igbo Women Assembly), explained that the group had the mandate to ensure victory for Jonathan as the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2015 election for continuity as directed by Prince Engr (Dr) Arthur Eze, OFR.



Odogwu Media reports that they said they drew up activities for their support including the prayer and fasting  session to seek God’s intervention to avoid carnage or destruction of lives and property during the 2015 General elections and mobilization of  women in the 21 local government areas of the state comprising of 177 communities to vote for Jonathan. They said they have carried the news of the mandate from Prince Arthur Eze to mobilize for President Jonathan to other 36 states and Abuja in the Federation where Njiko Umunwanyi Igbo exists for mobilizing too for Jonathan. We will get to all the 774 local government areas wherever Igbo women are to mobilize them. 

They added that the transformation recorded in some key sectors of the economy showed that Jonathan remained the candidate to beat, in spite of the challenges confronting the nation.

They encouraged rival parties to do their campaign with issues and their programmes rather than running down and castigating the office for the President but said they would ensure victory for the President in 2015 no matter the campaign of calumny from opposition, adding that rival candidates and parties should have a re-think on their positions while speaking about President Jonathan.

She further urged Nigerians to give President Goodluck Jonathan another opportunity to consolidate on his achievements in key sectors of the nation’s economy.

She said, “God has revealed that there is no rival to Jonathan’s second-term bid and that is why we are giving him all our support. For any other party to think that they can dislodge Jonathan, they must have a rethink. We are travelling far and near to mobilize for President Jonathan. Only President Jonathan can assure a future for this country where Christians and Moslems as well as Animists can co exist judging from utterances in the media. Our president is civil and has a human face to his administration. ”

Meanwhile, the Secretary General ,Njiko-Umunwanyi Igbo (Igbo Women Assembly), Anambra state chapter, Mrs Ijeoma Ekenyelu said the Association is welcoming the first Lady of Nigeria , Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan (Mama Peace)  who is due to visit the state on Saturday 4th October, 2015 at Alex Ekwueme Square Awka by 10 am.

Mrs Ekenyelu said the President’s wife is visiting as a guest of Honour to the 2015 Anambra state Multitude Movement Event tagged widows for Jonathan ; Jonathan for the widows  .

She said Prince Engr (Dr) Arthur Eze, OFR ,Anambra born Billionaire/Chairman Oranto Petroleum will host the event while the state Governor , Chief Willie Obiano Akpukuedike Aguleri is the chief Host of the event.

She commended the state coordinator of the Anambra state Multitude Movement Event , Prince Ephraim Ilonzeh , Enyi Abagana and the state Secretary Mr Chidi Orji for mobilizing thousands of people to welcome the First Lady.

 

She urged Goodluck Jonathan to continue to trust their illustrious son, Prince Arthur Eze (Ozoigbondu) as they are going to vote anybody he endorsed in any position as their major benefactor.
