The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lord ship Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor has congratulated the 1989 Set-Bigard Priests on their Silver Jubilee Celebration with a call on them to rededicate themselves to the service of God and humanity.
Bishop Ezeokafor who gave the congratulatory message at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka while addressing the celebrants said attainment of 25 years in one’s vocation was in no way a mean feat noting that with selfless service to humanity, obedience to God, and dedication to their duties they would still celebrate their Diamond Jubilee.
The man of God, exhorted them to use the period of their celebration to pray for the unity of the country successful 2015 general elections, the church and also for themselves adding that they should see their 25 years’ service in the Lord’s vineyard as a beginning of robust evangelization and to re-dedicate themselves to the service of God.
Bishop Ezeokafor who described the celebrants as gifted individuals beckoned on each of them to take the message of Peter University, Achina Aguata Council Area to their various parishes noting that the diocese needs assistance of any kind to enable them to actualize that dream of constructing a citadel of learning where children would be taught how to be good ambassadors of their family, the Church, themselves and society at large.
He said, ‘On behalf of myself, the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye; the Priests, Religious men and women and the entire lay faithful of Awka catholic Diocese, I say very big congratulations to you people,’ the Bishop said.
