The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) statewide congresses will now hold on 25th November, 2014 after it was cancelled following protests in different quarters over some people allegedly claiming they have been given tickets even without congresses held. Others were accused of collecting millions to determine the outcome of the congresses.
Report has it that at Anaocha local government area crisis erupted with youths alleging that the 60 delegates forms were allotted to the members representing Anaocha 1 , Hon Ebere Ejioffor and Anaocha 2 Hon Anslem Dunu in the Anambra state House of Assembly by the local government Chairman of APGA, Sir Ifeanyi Orji at the tune of N10 Million.
But members of APGA and youths who earlier protested over the disappearance of the delegates’ forms for the ward congresses in Anaocha council area yesterday said the issues they raised have been resolved and that they are satisfied with Orji explanations. They therefore apologized to him for accusing him wrongly over the disappearance of the 60 delegates’ forms.
Spokesperson of the delegates, Chukwudi Nnoruga from Nwanchi village Agulu ward 4, said the local government chairman of APGA has resolved all the issues pertaining to the delegates list and that the congresses would now hold on 25th of this month but appealed to all the Aspirants and party officials to give all the Aspirants a level playing ground to test their popularity in the field.
Nnoruga said the youths are apologizing to Orji because they now have a better knowledge and good explanation from him and wish to withdraw their earlier accusation since the issues have been resolved .
‘’We are now praying for a peaceful and transparent delegates congress in the local government with all the about 14 contenders having equal and fair treatment to avoid crisis and breech of peace in any way.
‘’we are appealing to all stakeholders to maintain the peace and ask their supporters to also ensure peace during the congress as only one person would be elected …..’’
