Farmers in Ekiti State have accused the State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi of stealing over N10 billion meant for the development of Agriculture in the State, describing the governor as enemy of farmers.
In a handbill circulated in Ekiti State yesterday, the Ekiti State Small Scale Farmers Association ( ESFA) said farmers in the state will not vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the June 21 governorship election.
The handbill titled; “why Ekiti State farmers may not vote for Governor Kayode Fayemi, ” was signed by ESFA President, Ogunkile John and Secretary, Suberu Hammed.

American celebrities call for release of kidnapped schoolgirls

Some American celebrities took to their social media accounts on Thursday to lend a voice for the release of over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped in Chibok, Borno State, about two weeks ago.
They expressed sadness over the issue and asked their followers on the various social media to join the campaign in ensuring that the girls got back home to their parents safely.
Joining other Nigerians with the hashtag bringbackourgirls, they called on the Nigerian government to intensify efforts in finding the girls.

The leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, has dared Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, to be prepared to meet him on the battle field.
Asari-Dokubo, who dismissed the threat by the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, against President Goodluck Jonathan, warned that 2015 would be “more than do-or-die.”
The Niger Delta region former fighter, who spoke Thursday night during a strategic partnership session with former militant leaders organised  by the Niger Delta Development Commission, recalled how Shekau threatened that the violent Islamic sect would soon come for President Jonathan.

When on Wednesday 29-year-old Saheed Badmus went to a viewing centre on Lamina Street, Egbe, Lagos State, to watch the UEFA Champions League semi-final match between Chelsea Football Club and Atletico Madrid, little did he know that was the last match he would ever watch.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the graduate of Ekiti State Polytechnic was stabbed to death by a barber identified only as Yemi, during an argument that broke out at the viewing centre.

Governor Nyako Reacts To Gulak's Sack


Governor Murtala Nyako has reacted to the sack of Ahmad Gulak, saying the sack should teach the former political adviser to the president a lesson about the transient nature of power.

The Indian film “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” led winners of the “Bollywood Oscars” on Saturday, clinching five of the top honours.The categories include best picture and best director as the awards made their first-ever U.S. stop in Tampa, Florida.
Celebrities, including Kevin Spacey and John Travolta and dignitaries from India and the U.S. descended on the Gulf Coast city this week for the International Indian Film Academy’s awards.

Ace Nollywood Director, Amaka Igwe Is Dead

Foremost producer, writer, director and a leading player in the Nigerian motion picture industry, Amaka Igwe has passed on. She died last night April 28th in Enugu after an asthma attack. Mrs Igwe had gone to Enugu in company of her husband for pre-production preparations for a new Igbo soap when the sad incident occurred.

She suffered an asthma attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital after initial intervention had failed but sadly died before getting there.  

Mrs Igwe is survived by her husband of 21 years Charles Igwe, three children, an aged mother. So sad! May her soul rest in peace...amen. Continue...

Finally Missing Malaysian Plane Images Has Been Found – US pilot

A pilot in New York claims he has found an image of the wreckage of MH370 online.
Michael Hoebel, 60, said he had found an image of what appeared to be the plane in one piece in the Gulf of Thailand — the exact place where the missing Malaysia Airlines plane made its last communication with air traffic control before falling silent in the early hours of March 8.
The Boeing 777 vanished from radar an hour into its flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Why that happened is still a mystery.
