A Vote for Jonathan is a Vote for the Future - Obi

The former Governor of Anambra State and the Deputy Director General of the Jonathan's Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mr. Peter Obi has called for massive votes for President Goodluck Jonathan, saying that a vote for him is a vote for the future of the country. He was speaking yesterday at the Premier Hotel, Ibadan, during the Post National Conference Summit, 2015 Election and the Yoruba Nation.

Obi said that Jonathan deserved the votes of Nigerians and all geo-political zones in the country which ever way one looked at it. "From the point of view of equity and justice, 4 more years for a candidate from the South-South, the Zone that produces the wealth of the nation is most reasonable. From the point of view of change, Jonathan remains the best because his government has inaugurated an era of change and you will agree with me that no other candidate is a credible alternative. From the point of view of work already done, No president has achieved what he did in 4 years. Do we talk about the rehabilitated roads, the re-birth of the railways, the unbundling of NEPA that will soon yield fruits, the massive work going on in our airports, among others", Obi said.
Commenting on the economy, Obi said that some people that shouted devaluation, did not understand the macro-economic realities behind that. Linking it to the fall in the prices of oil, Obi said it would have been worse if not for what Jonathan did in agriculture. He said that due to the attention paid to the sector, where food import had been reduced by over 50%.
Calling on the Yorubas and Nigerians to offer him all necessary support, he said that Nigeria needed him for peace and progress, since, according to him, he possessed the requisite virtues of humility and honesty that propped up leadership.
