The member representing Anaocha, Njikoka/Dunkofia Federal
constituency Honourable Uche Ekwunife, has solicited the support of traditional
rulers to mobilize the electorates to collect their Permanent Voter Cards
(PVC) ahead of february general elections
She stated this in her campaign tour to the palaces of the
traditional rulers of Neni kingdom, Adazi Enu, Ichida Kingdom, and Agulu-Ezigbo
in Anaocha Local Government Area of
Anambra state, stressed the need for traditional
rulers to lead the sensitization project by informing their people through holding regular town hall
meetings and using other notable means of passing the message in the language
the electorates would understand.
Honourable Ekwunife, who is an aspirant in the Anambra
Central Senatorial February 14 election, described the PVC as the weapon
needed by the electorate to elect candidates that will meet their expectations
through the provision of the dividends democracy.
She told the
royal fathers that as custodians of the tradition, the society demands of them
a peaceful atmosphere during and after the general elections, adding that the
need to educate the people on the qualities of a good leader and who to support
lay on their shoulders.
While addressing the mammoth crowd that came to receive her
at Neni, Adazi-Ani, Ichida and Agulu-ezigbo, Honourable Ekwunife urged Ndigbo to vote
for President Goodluck Jonathan for another term in office, noted that a
vote for Jonathan would further enhance Igbos chances in Nigeria political atmosphere .
She stressed that part of the strategies for securing bloc
votes for Jonathan was the persistent enlightenment of rural dwellers by
carrying campaigns to their various communities
In their different speeches, community leaders and President
Generals in Anaocha Local Government pledged their unalloyed support for
Honourable Ekwunife and promised to mobilize their community to ensure she
represent them at the red chambers of the National Assembly
Honourabe Ekwunife however commissioned a 350 KVA electricity
supply transformer and flagged off the construction of a One Kilometer Ihulu road, all in Agulu-Ezigbo
community of Anaocha LGA .
The campaign train also had the aspirant for Anaocha,
Dunukofia and Njikoja Dr. Okey Eze and member contesting for Anaocha LGA state constituency ll, Charles
Ezeani were also presented to the people.
