APC IS LOSING STEAM IN LAGOS, SAYS AGBAJE

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2015 governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has described the campaign of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as having lost steam.
Agbaje spoke at an interactive dinner held in his honour in Lagos. “The other party has had to change their team. One does not change a winning team, except when in trouble,” according to Agbaje.
He reiterated earlier statements that he was determined to change the face of governance in Lagos. “I believe I can make a significant difference in making Lagos more competitive.
“We are 20 million Lagosians, by 2035 we will be about 30-35 million; we cannot be a megacity just on the basis of population.
“I think we can do it better. I acknowledge work has been done, but there is the need to move forward and make significant difference.
We have a government that has been there for 16 years, and pushing them out will not be child’s play, but, we are winning.

“We need a change and it must start from leadership; leadership that is selfless and free from vested interests.”
Also speaking was the state chairman of the party, Tunji Shelle.
According to Shelle, Agbaje is a better candidate poised to win the election than his main contender of the APC, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
“Jimi Agbaje beat Ambode twice in the debate. The third time he will beat him will be on April 11.” According to him, “Jimi is the man that will free us from the APC bondage in Lagos State.” “He has what it takes to change the health and other sectors in the state. Politics is a big business and not one for the idle man. Jimi is on top of the situation.
“Personally I have done opinion polls as the chairman of the party and anywhere I go, I know that Jimi scores 80 per cent more than his opponent.
“The election will be keen do doubt but it is already won by Jimi Agbaje. Lagos is blessed and cannot be left to just anybody. On assumption of
office, I know Jimi will fulfill the promises he has made to the electorate for which he has toured wide across the state.
“He will not only be a good governor but a leader of leaders and the man to entrust the billions of dollars that accrue to Lagos as revenue and ensures that Lagos and Lagosians prosper.”
Present at the event were notable PDP stakeholders such as Senator Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele; Chief JK Randle; Senator Musiliu Obanikoro; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, who was the chairman of the event, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe and many others.
