The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fulted the claim made by Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode the Director, Media and Publicity of PDPPCO of the Peoples Democartic party.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed, National Publicity Secretary All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos. in a statemet said our attention has been drawn to the claim made by the Spokesman of the Jonathan Campaign Organization, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, that the PDP is winning the presidential election in 23 states and has scored 64 per cent.
Shortly after Mr. Fani-Kayode made his claim, the Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, was asked to comment on it.
Prof. Jega responded thus: ”I don’t know the sources of such information (that the PDP is leading in 23 states). The results have not been collated in 23 states. Fairly very few states have actually collated. In fact, only two states have been collated…. There is the need to be careful about the information being put there by people who are clearly partisan.”
Addressing Journalists Sumday in Abuja, Director, Media and Publicity of PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode said the outcome of claimed results was based on results filed in by it’s polling agents nationwide, just as he stressed that results would be subjected to the confirmation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Fani- Kayode however described as not only nonsensical, but also far-kfetched, absurd and childish, results being released by the social media, even as he stressed that the results were being sponsored by the APC, warning the opposition to desist from feeding the media with what he described as fake results to prevent plunging the country into chaos.
He said: “As we speak now, we are winning in 23 states and we have 64 percent while the APC is winning in 14 states and has 36 percent. These results are subject to confirmation by the Independent National Electoral Commission.”However, we are certain of what we are saying because we have information from our agents in every polling unit nationwide. No one must test our will by attempting to change these results and the APC should desist from pushing this nation to the brink of fire, chaos and destruction with their dirty lies and propaganda.
