‘’Look at where my container is, does this place look like Ngozika road where they had marked for demolition, I want to call on Governor Wille Obaino, because we all voted for him to kindly intervene and rescue us from this incessant harassment of men of ASUDEB’’.
While reacting to the wide spread allegation on the board, the Acting General Manager, Anambra State Urban Development Board, Mr Chinedu Enemuo denied the allegation, based it on fact that they were duly informed before the demolition exercise tool place, he said he could count on many occasions that he visited the market and told them the standard the state government is expected from them and urge them to maintain, also he said a delegation of women of that market had earlier came to his office to know what is expected of them to fix in their different stores if they will be granted the opportunity to remain in their present shops, he said, ‘’I told them that am not after them neither am I interested in witch-hunting them, we are all human being and we know what is good for ourselves’’.
‘’I told them to help me achieve the purpose I was appointed by the governor to manage the board, and did specify that I just wanted to see a clean and serene environment, where their stores will put up a clean look for any onlookers who may want to use the Ngozika Housing Estate road and see that the stores there are net’’.
‘’I first gave them a prior two week notice , which was then extended to another four months before I now led the operation by myself to see their level of compliance, only to see that they were yet to comply to the agency’s directive'.
I still insist that they must do the right thing and make that road serene for the residents of that housing estate’ Ag GM Submitted.
