He expressed disappointment that persons of criminal magnitude would be considered for Anambra state being a state that does not share geographical location with North east where the insurgent have as their stronghold.
He said, ‘'Nobody wants dangerous element in their midst that is why a lot of people do not like prisons situated in their neighbourhood , prisons have to be built somewhere ,, once you build prison there, any criminal can be sent there '.
''Clearly, is not something that we look forward to but we do belong to a country because Anambra state is not a country on its own, it’s part of the federating unit called Nigeria''.
''If we are forced to handle such detainees, I pray for us to have the well with how to do that, for the facilities have to be well secured to make sure that the citizens are safe, beyond that, I have no further comment’’.
He therefore called of the federal government to re-consider their desire to transfer men of that criminal magnitude to a place they never share geographical location and people that have also suffered more casualties since the inception of the Boko Haram insurgent killings.
''We don’t want dangerous people in our midst that is for sure, but if it must happen, extreme care should be taken that they are properly safeguarded and that there is no possibility of them escaping or causing arm in this part of the country ‘’ said Ojukwu Jr.
