Anambra State Government Warns Against indiscriminate Dumping of Refuse

Anambra State Government has warned  residents of Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi metropolis about the ealier warning of possible flooding in these embers months and urged them to keep their drains neat always,
This was contained in the public service announcement made available to Ashiwaju.org , signed by the state commissioner for environment, Rt. Hon. Chinwe Nwaebili in conjunction with her information, Culture and Tourism  counterpart, Dr. Mrs Uju Nwogu to buttress the need for safety keeping of refuse bin in this raining season.
They warned that  the earlier challenge with prompt evacuation of refuse in major streets and roads in the State occasioned by filled up dump sites has been resolved to ease free flow of flood in the metropolis.

The release read in part: ''The State Government is happy that new dump sites have been identified and cleared for proper dumping of household and industrial refuse.
The State Government expresses deep appreciation to Ndi Anambra for their patience, understanding and unalloyed support and assures that the refuse in some streets especially in residential and commercial areas of the State would soon be completely cleared. Already, the Ministry of Environment and Anambra State Waste Management Agency (ASWAMA) are currently busy clearing refuse in all the major cities in the State''.
''The State Government by this announcement reiterates its resolve to ensure a clean and healthy environment that would perfectly depict Anambra State as the light of the nation''.
