AMVCAs 2016 Award:Nse Ikpe-Etim Top The List






The 2015/2016 AfricaMagic Viewers Choice Awards,AMVCAs, M-net and Dstv  is set to crown this year viewers award, and Nse Ikpe-Etim Top the list.
The organizer of the award, defied the yuletide season break , brainstorm and fine tuning the choice of the viewers delight, design to presnt the best among the rest in this year MTVDST Viewers Award season..





They had last week unveiled the nominees for the 2016 edition, and it was a list to behold!

Star of Emem Isong’s 2009 romantic drama, “Reloaded” , Nse Ikpe-Etim who won the Best Actress in a leading role (English) , at the just concluded Best of Nollywood, BON, awards is set to battle for  the same award again, having been nominated for her role in the movie, “ Visit.” Nse will be battling for the award with the likes of Genevieve Nnaji(Road to Yesterday), Mary Lazarous(Don’t cry for Me ), Belinda Effah(Stop) and Adesua Etomi(Falling).

However, Stephanie Okereke’s “Dry” emerged top of the list with seven nominations, followed by South African film “Ayanda” and newly released “Road To Yesterday” which had five nominations each. Omoli Oboli’s “Being Mrs Elliot” got three nominations




Nominations bagged by “Dry” include, Best Overall Movie(Afica), Best Make up Artist(Movie/TV series), Best Director, Best Supporting Actress (Movie//TV series)-Zubaidat Ibrahim Fagge, Best Cinematography,Best Movie – West Africa (Drama/Comedy) and Best Sound Editor (Movie/TV series).Other nominees include, Kelechi Udegbe, IK Ogbonna,Bishop Imeh Umoh, Bowoto Jephthah, Folarin Falana, Mike Ezuruonye, Majid Michel, Van Vicker, Daniel K. Daniel, Segun Arinze and Blossom Chukwujekwu who were nominated for Best Actors in a Comedy and Drama respectively.





According to the Regional Director, M-Net (West) Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, over 2,500 entries were received for this year’s awards, adding that voting starts in all the categories immediately after the unveiling of the nominees last Friday. The awards ceremony is billed to hold in March 2016, in Lagos.
