FASHOLA MOVES TO FIX POWER SECTOR


Minister of Power, Babatunde Fashola, yesterday informed operators in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, NESI, that one of the primary targets of the present government is to fix the sector.
The minister, at a stakeholders’ forum organised by the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency in Abuja, explained that the functions of NEMSA, as directed by the Federal Government, is to ensure stable systems that would deliver reliable, efficient and regular power supply and at the same time guarantee safety of lives and property in the industry.

End petrol scarcity in two weeks, Senate tells Kachikwu

The Senate on Thursday asked the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, to end the current scarcity of petrol within two weeks.

The upper chamber also directed the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Jamila Soara, and heads of other agencies in the sector to ensure steady supply of the product in all filling stations across the country at the approved pump price.

NDIGBO DID NOT START CIVIL WAR –IWUANYANWU

A chieftain of the PeoplesDemocratic Party (PDP), Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has said contrary to insinuations in some quarters, Igbo did not start the civil war, which engulfed the country from 1967 to 1970.
He said rather, those who felt that the Igbo in the military carried out the 1966 coup started the war, and then went on a mindless killing of Igbo.

EKITI State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has carpeted President Muhammadu Buhari’s claim that many of those who looted public treasuries in the government of former president Goodluck Jonathan had started returning the stolen funds to the government.

KOGI GOV: AUDU’S SUPPORTERS PUSH FOR SON AS REPLACEMENT


 There were strong indications on Wednesday that the campaign organisation of the late Kogi State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Abubakar Audu, was preparing a ground for the emergence of the deceased’s son, Mohammed, as a replacement for his father.
Audu died on Sunday, a few hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the November 21 governorship poll in the state inconclusive.

Protesters to target Chicago shopping area on Black Friday


Small groups of demonstrators gathered throughout the day Wednesday to protest the death of a black teen shot 16 times by a white police officer, and they urged supporters to join them in trying to shut down Chicago's famous Michigan Avenue shopping district during the Black Friday shopping bonanza. 
About two dozen protesters gathered outside Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office a day after authorities released the graphic video, footage that President Barack Obama said "deeply disturbed" him.
The video shows officer Jason Van Dyke, who was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder, firing an entire magazine into 17-year-old Laquan McDonald.

Why South African Worshipers Threaten To Imprrison Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

The South African government has threatened a jail term for Chris Oyakhilome if his church, Christ Embassy, fails to release its financial records, the South African based News24 is reporting.
The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities said several religious leaders in the country could be jailed if they fail to comply with the demands of the commission.

Governor Obiano is still servicing the N1bn Commercial Agricultural Loan his predecessor, Peter Obi borrowed from the Federal Government for on lending to farmers in the State through the Ministry of Agriculture and All Farmers Association of Nigeria (ALFAN), Anambra Chapter. 

Unfortunately, the loan was listed in his handover not as part of the phantom N75bn cash. It is not even an investment yet, Peter Obi’s Aide, Val Obienyem, has been shouting about that Anambra is taking a loan.

  It was a tale that aroused curiosity each time it was told. Does Peter Obi want Third Term in Office?

As the war of words between former governor Peter Obi and his successor, Chief Willie Obiano continues to rage on social media, the question that many Nigerians are beginning to ask is, “does Peter Obi want another term in office?”  This question is gaining currency on the lips of most discerning members of the public who are surprised that Obi may have inadvertently pricked the balloon of his exaggerated image of a good man and now the air has gone out with a hiss.
