Tension heightens as Faleke, Bello’s supporters clash at APC national secretariat





The atmosphere around the national secretariat of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Abuja has become tense following a clash between supporters of Yahaya Bello and Hon. James Faleke.

Both have entrenched interest in the Kogi State election and are jostling to replace the former governorship candidate of the party, late Abubakar Audu.

It has been weeks of frenzied activities since the government of Anambra state disavowed responsibility for alleged N75 billion bequest of the previous administration. The media (print and online) was stirred considerably and literally brought home to Anambra. Headlines were cast as there were interests. Anchors on TV furthered the histrionics by hosting rebutters of unequal strength to dispute the contentious claim. The disparity in the performance of the two guests on TV (Sir Willie Nwokoye, Governor Willie Obiano’s principal secretary and Mr. Valentine Obienyem, former Governor Peter Obi’s media aide) was tellingly stark.

By this clarification the government has put a lie to media reports both in the print and online that Anambra was financially stable as at 17th March, 2014 on account of this money. FORMER PRESIDENT JONATHAN ESCAPES DEATH BY WHISKERS IN BAYELSA











Former President Goodluck Jonathan this morning when some suspected militants working for the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State drove into his convey.

The men, who intercepted and drove into a short motorcade conveying the former President from the Julius Berger bridge area of the state capital Yenagoa, trailed and chased the motorcade to the entrance of the Yenagoa private residence of the former President in the Kpansia area of the town, before they were overpowered and arrested by a combined team of security operatives attached to the former President.

Nigeria to prosecute T.B. Joshua, others over death of 116 persons in church building collapse


The trustees of ‎Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) will on Monday (November 30, 2015) be arraigned before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja over the collapse of a six-story building in the church on September 12, 2014, which led to the death of 116 persons.

Senior Pastor of the church, Prophet T.B Joshua is one of the trustees.





The trustees will be arraigned before Justice Lawal Akapo alongside the engineers who constructed the collapsed building.

Fury Destroys Klitschko To Be Crowned New World Heavyweight Champion

 Britain’s Tyson Fury was crowned the new world heavyweight champion on Saturday after a unanimous points win over Wladimir Klitschko, who suffered his first defeat in eleven years.
The 27-year-old Fury was awarded the fight in Duesseldorf 115-112, 115-112 and 116-111 by the judges to take Klitschko’s WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO belts as the Ukrainian suffered his first defeat since 2004.




Kogi: Violent protests against APC choice, Bello

 
The All Progressives Congress’ decision to pick Yahaya Bello as a replacement for its governorship candidate in Kogi State, the late Abubakar Audu, has led to violent protests in the state.

A newspaper had on Saturday reported that the APC had picked Bello as a substitute for Audu, who died on Sunday shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the November 21 governorship election in the state inconclusive.
