Anambra Professionals Charge Governor Obiano To Beef Up Security Against Possible Fulani Herdsmen Invasion

Sequel to the renewed calls by stakeholders in the south east, challenging  their state governors to beef up security to avert a re-occurrence of Fulani herdsmen attacks on villages in the zone, Anambra League of Professionals have charged the state house of assembly to cooperate with the state governor to ensure safety of lives and properties of the people in the state is maintained.
They solicited for an improved convivial working relationship within the three arms of government to enable them discharge their  constitutional  responsibilities creditably in the area of providing adequate security of lives and properties of the people living in the state.

Addressing members of the Anambra state house of assembly after a few hours closed door meeting with the legislatures, the president, Anambra League of Professionals, Mr. Willie Nzewi commended the existing working relationship between the state legislature and executive, but  urged for improve performance to enable the state government deliver on its mandates promised to the people of the state. 
Chief Nzewi, condemned the pogrom on the indigenes of  Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwanyi Local Government Area of Enugu state, a neighboring state to Anambra state, and called for caution that the state should double it efforts on ensure security of the people is assured against the nomadic invasion on farm lands and villages, in the state.
They suggested a proactive measures be intensified to arrest the situation before it enters the state, noted that demographic data collection and verification of herdsmen migration in and out of the state should be censored to avert possible attacks on their villages.
The President of League of Professionals further urged the stated government not to rest on its oars and ascertained that the utmost confidence of dividend of democracy lies in the peace and security of lives and properties which is paramount and expressed optimism that the existing working relationship between the executive and legislature in Anambra should be consolidated.
“I really want to commend this house and the executive for the convivial working relationship between them, which leaves no doubt that they are borne out of the true spirit of Anambra”.
“I have no doubt that they have lived up to the the people's expectation, because, Anambra before now was not habitable, but the inception of this present administration has brought hope and sound security confidence to indigenes of the state”.
                                           
“We are here to lend our support and encourage them to keep the tempo afloat and assert proactive measure to prevent invasion of the Fulani herdsmen to come and cause destruction in our villages”. Nzewi said.
Earlier in the meeting, the members representing Njikoka 1 state constituency and his Anambra west counterpart, Honourable Pita Ibida  and Honourable Victor Okoye commended the experts for their spontaneous response to lend voice to their work in keeping the state secure, but assured that the state has put in place measures to arrest the situation and its yielding the expected results.
In a remark, the speaker, Anambra state house of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Rita Mmaduagwu assured the members of the League of Anambra Professionals of their resolve to ensure safety of lives and properties of indigenes and residents of the state is protected..
The speaker maintained that the state government had envisaged this in the past by setting up  a committee headed by the state commissioner of police that comprised of the Fulani Traders, headed by the sheikh of Fulanis and traditional rulers in the state, headed by the Igwe of Aguleri  and the  police, they have sat on several cases and resolved series of issues arising from herdsmen and farmers disputes on cow grazing, and farm lands invasion by herdsmen.
“I want to assure you that we are up to the task and we are arresting the situation, the state governor, Chief Willien Obiano is really on top of the game and we enjoin Ndi-Anambra home and abroad to continue lending  their support to this government to  deliver on our mandates promised from the inception of this administration”. She assured.
There is no doubt that the state governor,  Chief Willie Obiano is winning war against insecurity in the state  by providing helicopter parading the cities, villages and farm lands to report pockets of insecurity information and its yielding expected results.
