Sequel to the alleged killing of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) by the joint Task Force (JTF), Anambra state government has alleged that the youths peaceful demonstration was hijacked by hoodlums imported from neighbouring states, whose designs were to distort the peace and security in the state.
He adsorbed the state youths involvement in the planned Biafra demonstration and attributed the attack as an act, birthed in other states, only being carried out in the Anambra state, without the participation of the people and of the government of Anmabra state.
The state governor, Chief Willie Obiano however affirmed that the state has maintained its peaceful nature with all and sundry and promised to nip the crisis in the board to prevent future occurrence
Speaking through the state commissioner for information and strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnacheta, debunked the involvement of he state government in the allegation put up in the media that the state government was fingered to have instructed the police to shoot at the protesters.
His word: ''hoodlums got involved in the situation in Nkpor and that's how there was that problem,we don't have all the details,but we are walking on the details, but to state clearly, Anambra state government or Governor, never and will ever give such directives to threaten the life of its citizens''.'
''The police have arrested 26 suspects involved in the fraca, Non of the 26 persons happened to be an indigene of Anmabra state or residence in the state '.
''The majority of those who took part in this issue are not from Anmabra, they came from various neighbouring states, that was what made us very curious , how come violence is being imported into Anmabra''.
''This government will never and ever give such odious orders , the police have their own rules of engagement'' .
''The issues at Nkpor are being investigated but Anambra state government has no role in police orders''. He said.
The commissioner revealed that the police have arrested 26 suspect, allegedly involved in the hijack of the protest, they condemned the mode where people rush to publication without verifying the authenticity of the information.

Yesterday bloodbath at Nkpor, in Idemili North local government area of Anambra state threw the community into a theater of wars , where thousands of protesters clashed with security forces in Anambra, and similar incidents were also recorded in Imo, Enugu, Abia, Delta, Cross River and Ebonyi States respectively, leading to the deaths of dozens of people, including three policemen, several sustaining injuries, and the arrest of scores of protesters in all the states where the protests took place.
The harmless IPOB/MASSOB protesters were earlier seen in their thousands from different states that made up of the old eastern region in celebration and commemoration of the Biafra declaration date on 30th of May 1967 by their supreme leader, late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
