Artistes must do right thing to succeed in music –D-TRUCE

Talented rapper, D-Truce, has called on musicians across the country to always strive towards excellence if they hope to have successful careers.

The young artiste who is signed unto X3M Music, the same label that houses the soulful duo of Simi and Praiz – a product of the famous MTN Project Fame Academy, made the call in Lagos recently during the filming of the video of his latest single, Better Days.

Directed by Tolu Itogboje, the video was filmed in Ebutte-Metta, one of Lagos’ most densely populated neighbourhoods, and had scenes of children playing and running around in an environment that bears the hallmark of a typical ghetto.
D-Truce, who attributed his rise to fame to the benevolence of God and hard work, said the ghetto-like setting was chosen for the new video so that viewers, faced with life’s challenges, could be reminded that there are better days ahead.

He said, “Better Days is a song of hope to all those hustling and who are currently faced with a lot of challenges. It is a song to remind them that there is indeed a better tomorrow.

“As an artiste, I have been through a lot in my life. But I have come to realise that if one strives to always do the right thing, success would come. For those of us in music, doing the right thing and having the fear of God is the most assured way to succeed.”

D-Truce signed was snapped up by X3M Music in 2014 after and his style combines rap with other genres of music.
