This was disclosed in press statement, signed by the state commissioner of police Sam Okaula, in Awka, stating that the suspects were arrested due to a follow up information gathered in connection with the incident.
The statement reads that security operatives on duty at the premises of NTA Onitsha, Startime complex thwarted the operation of the gunmen, returned fire for and successfully repelled the hoodlums’ attack.
The commissioner however notes in the statement that he was there on ground of the scene to ascertain the level of wreckage the explosive device had done to the building, states that the premises has been cordoned off by his men.
CP Okaula opined further that investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing, assued with fact that fleeing suspects involved in the unruly act would be fished out.
