The party's NEC notes with fact that the Anambra state government model should be copied by the other 35 state governors as economic models to promote the purchasing power of Nigerians to work out of the recession.
These and many more were the resolutions reached in their just concluded national convention held in Awka, the Anambra state capital where the party urged other state executives to borrow a leave from Anambra state government as it is tackling recession with robust a economic planning.
Speaking on behalf of the NEC Executives, former Minister of Information, Culture, National Orientation, and national secretary of APGA, Mallam Labaran Maku suggests a peer review mechanism as an alternative source to rescue the nation from the dwindling economic mess, he says all hands should be on deck to ensure the economic woes are tackled head long.
The NEC in its resolution is rejecting the purported suspension of the party national chairman, Victor Ike-Oye by the erstwhile deputy national chairman south east, Ozo Nwabueze-Okafor’s led faction, saying the convention passed a vote of confidence on the embattled National chairman, Victor Ike-Oye as their chairman
Among other positions reached as their resolutions were the call for all APGA members home and abroad to throw their weight behind the re election of Governor Willie Obiano in the 2017 governorship election as well as calling on the judiciary to mediate and speed up the litigation between the party's former National chairman, Victor Umeh and PDP, which they say is becoming endless. And also the conduct of the Anambra Central senatorial election.
APGA NEC however affirmed the earlier motion moved by the National working committee NWC of the party to suspend the acting National chairman of the party, Ozo Nwabueze-Okafor and five others on grounds of acting ultra-vire to the party’s constitution.
