EFCC, ANHA should Investigate, Umeh, Obi and Obiano now-APC

The revelations made by the former Commissioner for Information  for Anambra State Chief Joe Martins Uzodike ,who doubled at some point as Director General of Obiano Campaign Organisation in 2013, that N3.05bn of Anambra State scarce resources where given to Sir Victor Umeh for the dual purpose of running All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and as bribe to endorse the candidature of Obiano by the Obi-led Government of Anambra State should be thoroughly investigated by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The executive governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano has debunked the rumour that his administration has abandoned projects inherited from the previous administrations.
He revealed that he has currently completed about 65 per cent of projects inherited under former Governor Peter Obi and Senator Chris Ngige respectively., said his  administration would ensure it complete all the projects before the expiration of his tenure.

Governor El-Rufai Thinking Of Removing Buhari – Shehu Sani

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been accused of “thinking of removing President Muhammadu Buhari.”
In an explosive interview in the March edition of The Interview magazine, Mr. Sani said, “It would be counter-productive for the Governor to start thinking of evicting Buhari in 2019 to be the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“El-Rufai should do his job and stop putting his eyes on the Presidency.”
The senator represents Kaduna Central and is in the same ruling All Progressives Congress with the Governor. They have been at odds for undisclosed political reasons, leading to Sani’s suspension by the state branch of the party.

Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), with headquaters in Auchi, Edo State and President of Celebration TV has rained curses on Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, over his directive that pastors and churches must be licenced to preach.
In a video that is being circulated on social media he warned the governor: “Revoke your law or die!”
Recently, Governor El-Rufai sent a bill to the State House of Assembly to regulate religious preaching across the state. The bill titled: “A bill for a law to substitute the Kaduna State religious preaching law, 1984” is also aimed at banning the usage of loudspeaker for religious purposes “other than inside a Mosques or Church and the surrounding areas outside the stipulated prayer times.”

EFCC ARREST: Rickey Tarfa Clears Self





Embattled Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Rickey Tarfa (SAN), has asked a Lagos State High Court in Igbosere to quash the charges of willful obstruction and perversion of the course of justice filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Tarfa, in an affidavit filed in support of his preliminary objection to the charges, claimed that the charges were filed against him by the EFCC just to “irritate, annoy and embarrass” him.

Efforts By Saraki Becoming Acting President Foiled





The Presidency on Sunday denied the cancellation of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s planned trip to India for fear that the embattled President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, may become acting President.
An online news medium, Sahara Reporters, had reported that Osinbajo’s planned trip was cancelled when it was discovered that President Muhammadu Buhari would also be out of the country at the time.
The report had insinuated that the Vice-President’s trip was called off in order to ensure that Saraki, who is the third in hierarchy in the country, did not emerge acting President in the absence of Buhari and Osinbajo.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Monday restated his determination to probe the administration of his predecessor, Mr. Gabriel Suswam.
Ortom announced this in Makurdi while swearing in three new Special Advisers and said that probing Suswan was one of his responsibilities to people of the state.
According to him, people of Benue voted me into office because of my pledge during the electioneering that I will correct all the wrongs in Suswam’s administration.

A former teacher, banker and Local Government Chairman, Radda until his new appointment, was the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari.

MURDER: Police Arrest LASU worker for lover’s death

An official of the Lagos State University, Samuel Ambe, has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing his lover, Mata Jidonu.

Thirty-two-year-old Mata was married to a lawyer, Sunday Jidonu, for whom she had three children.

It was learnt that the suspect worked at the Department of Works and Physical Planning of the university.

Arms probe: Military seeks Buhari’s nod to try soldiers





If the Nigerian Army authorities get the nod of President Muhammadu Buhari, all suspected serving officers in the ongoing investigation into the $2.1bn arms procurement scandal will undergo military trial, The PUNCH has learnt.
A competent government source confided in our correspondent on Sunday that military authorities had sought the President’s permission for the officers to be prosecuted under the Armed Forces Act.

He said the position of the military was that the Armed Forces Act had made provision for such infractions on the part of military men and how to handle their cases.

Governor Fayose Suspends 16 teachers for child labour






Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has suspended 16 teachers at Elo High School, Ayetoro Ekiti, for allegedly using their pupils as labourers on their farms during school hours.
He has also ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter.
Fayose gave the directive in Ado Ekiti while receiving the report of a team led by the Deputy Governor, Dr Kolapo Olusola, that went to the school for a preliminary investigation.

‎Court Orders Release of Dasuki’s Ex-Aide





A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Jabi, Abuja on Monday, ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigerian Army, to immediately release Col. Nicholas Ashinze, a former aide to the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.).
Justice Yusuf Halilu gave the order in his judgment in a suit filed by Ashinze for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights to personal liberty.

Court of Appeal Sentenced Nollywood Actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima To 5-year jail term





The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has dismissed an appeal filed by Nollywood actress Ibinabo Fiberesima challenging a jail term slammed on her by a Lagos High Court.
Ms. Ibinabo was sentenced to five years imprisonment by Justice Deborah Oluwayemi of a Lagos High Court for reckless driving which led to the death of a hospital staff.
She was alleged to have driven her car recklessly on the Lekki-Epe Expressway and knocked down a man, Giwa Suraj.
