Anambra state house of assembly has passed a motion, calling on Governor Willie Obiano to rehabilitate the Oraifite/Onitsha Expressway leading to Obiagu Uruagu road for easy passage of persons and farm produce from that area.
Noted that the road was constructed by a philanthropists since 1998 and maintained by same person, urged the state government to speedily arrest the deplorable state of the road for easy assess for the people using the road connecting Onitsha and Owerri in Imo state.
Explaining the excruciating nature residents of the area go through using that road. The mover of the motion, Hon. Onyebuchi Offor lamented that the people of that region in the state raised this as an appeal to the state government to consider the road among major roads to embark upon soonest.
He alleged that the people of Ekwusigho local government area have not had it so well under this present administration, states that the people would be elated if their request to have that road rehabilitated by the governor soonest is granted.
Honorable Onyebuchi Offor states that their local government under All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA have not fared well in terms of project representations that could be ascribed to state government,
Urged the governor not to play politics with project that would have direct bearing on the lives of the downtrodden who use the road for both domestic and commercial purposes.
Honourable Offor who is of the People Democratic party PDP and the also the Minority leader of the state house of Assembly enjoined the state government to consider Ekwusigho as a local government in the state that need equal development that is being witnessed in Ayanmelu, Anambra East and West LGAs, where the state governor hails from.
