The chairman, Anambra State House Committee on Trade, Commerce and Wealth Creation and member representing Njikoka II State Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Dr. Pete Ibida, has rewarded his Campaign Organization's secretary, Kpajie Philip Egungwu of Abagana, with a Toyota Camry car.
Presenting the car keys, Hon. Ibida said it was a reward for a job well-done, noting that it would serve as a motivating factor for Mr. Egungwu whom he described as an industrious and dedicated grassroots mobilizer.
He said he decided to reward his secretary for his unalloyed support, dexterity and resourcefulness towards his activities.
Sir Ibida said he (Egungwu) had served in similar position in the past even at gubernatorial level for some politicians without anything to show for the services rendered.
'He worked tirelessly during a particular governor's campaign. I think he served in that same capacity (secretaryship).
'At the end nothing was given to him. When I picked him up, I already know that I'd reward him at the end because he had suffered. That's exactly what I am here to do today. To reward hard work,' Ibida said
Speaking on his performance as a legislator, he said his good work had earned him ten awards from reputable organizations, including Anambra Chamber of Commerce (Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi ) in 18 months, assuring that he would continue to thank God for the good hearts that continued to appreciate his performance,
Ibida also said even the Abagana Community through the Igwe and cabinet, conferred on him the Ugwumba Abagana title last December, noting that he was motivated with that singular act of recognition and would continue to serve his people even better.
Receiving the car, Mr. Egungwu thanked Hon. Pete Ibida for remembering him, noting that he had done so much and touched many lives in his constituency and beyond.
'Ibida is a gift to humanity. Apart from appreciating me, he has built many roads that were hitherto impassable. We have experienced his magnanimity and have made things easy for our people and visitors. Go to Ifite Ani Nimo, you'll see what Ibida has done there. If you're going there now you'll have smooth ride unlike before.
'Our votes are secure for him come next election,' Egungwu promised.
