I will make Youths Cardinal of My Administration--+ Okonkwo

The All Progressive Congress, APC, gubernatorial hopeful has revealed the reason he joined the November 17 gubernatorial race in Anambra State as to clear what he called incumbent governor, Chief Willie Obiano's mess.

Chief Okonkwo who made this public while playing host to members of Anambra Online Publishers (AOP) at his Ojoto country home in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state.
He accused  Governor Willie Obiano of running a government of lies and deceit, noting that the people of the state had suffered untold hardship under Obiano's regime.

Chief Okonkwo who doubles as the Director Zzini Media‎, said the major reason why the governor seeks re-election was because of immunity clause, noting that he (Obiano) knew that once he is out of government he would be tried for corruption without delay.

His words, 'Obiano is corrupt. He knows he will go in immediately he is out of office that's why he is fighting the battle of his life. Obiano has deceived Ndi Anambra enough. He has plunged this great state into a deep ditch. We must not allow him to continue. He has rubbished us enough. We are tired of hanky panky government. Just look at that old fashioned flyovers he built in Awka. Is that not enough to send him packing? Our 15billion Naira just went down the drain for no just cause. Is that not an insult to the collective psyche of Ndi Anambra? No, tell me, is this man not stealing us blind?,' he queried.

Chief Okonkwo urged Obiano to desist from counting payment of workers' salaries as one of his achievements, saying that no sincere government would ever count that as an achievement. This is even as he said he was in the race to ensure that Obiano account for every kobo he spent while in office.

The Tetrazzini boss took his time to commend Anambra based media practitioners for always reporting happenings in the state, noting that without the media the world would had been in darkness by now. Chief Okonkwo thanked them for reporting the state effectively and efficiently.

Speaking on his chances in getting APC ticket, the business mogul said he was more than ready to wrestle it with other aspirants, noting that he had consulted widely before throwing his hat in the ring. 'I have the capacity. I know I will get it. I have started seeing myself as the flag bearer of my party.

When asked what he would do differently from what Gov. Obiano had done, the younger brother of Sen. Annie Okonkwo said he would place high premium on youths empowerment, noting that if elected most of the positions in his government would be occupied by the youth.

'Youth involvement is non negotiable because they are the nucleus of any reasonable society. They will form the fulcrum of my government. It will be 100% youth oriented. What stops this government from appointing youths into key positions?. Businesses are closing up everyday in Anambra owing to Obiano's financial recklessness. We must stop him. Obiano's government will be best remembered for the wrong reasons. Obiano should cover his face in shame. He has dragged us ten steps backwards. I am here to right his wrongs,' he boasted.
