The coordinator, Association Of People Living With Sickle Cell Disorder (APLSCD), Aisha Edwards, has urged members of the Association to partake in the ongoing
continuous voter registration exercise and ensure that they registered for their voters' card before this year's commemoration of World Sickle Cell Day, set to hold on the 19th of June 2017, to enable them VOTE IN their choice candidate in the forthcoming Anambra State Gubernatorial Election.

The head of the 726-member strong Association, made this passionate appeal, following the increased number of deaths amongst her members, most of whom are from Anambra State Especially in Aniocha Local Government Area of the state.

Aisha lamented that people living with Sickle Cell Disorder Rarely voted in time past, due to fear of Electoral Violence, Mal practices, Intimidation, Neglect, Discrimination and Oppression Meted out to Sickle cell victims, But expressed Confidence and Determination that things will be different this time around as they are willingly ready to utilise their franchise even if it means Crawling to the polling Unit Just to fight for their Constitutional Right and what they believe in, at the polling booth. This she stated was the only way to Grant the undying Last wishes of her Deceased Members.

She also stated that for the Law protecting her members to be passed, the right persons needed to be at the helm of affairs and in office, reminding her members that it was their duty to make this happen.

Aisha pleaded with friends, well-wishers, and anambrarians at large to come out en-masse to vote for the right candidate, and admonished them to dismiss the long-held notion that their votes do not count.

The avid Campaigner and Coordinator for APLSCD commended those working relentlessly towards the smooth passage of The Sickle Cell Law in the state, especially members of the Anambra State House Of Assembly, who she urged not to relent.

Aisha also reminded friends and well-wishers of the Association on the burial ceremony of one of their late member, Mr Chinedu Nwabueze, from Agulu in Aniocha Local Government Area of the State, which will feature a Burial mass at Madonna Catholic Church, Agulu, on the 20th of may, 2017, urging The Association friends and well wishers to join them as they pay their last respect to their Later Gallant fighter.
