The
drive was geared toward having research base mechanism where the agricultural viable
states in Nigeria would compare their area of strength and weakness to fashion
out plans that would bring about enhance agro-sectoral policy, which will serve
as the alternative to oil that would drive the nation Gross Domestic Product to
an enviable height.
Agriculture
is no doubt the mean that can drive Nigeria economy, where technology prowess
seems to be at less demands in this part of the world.
Presidency
has however raised a team to experts from the institute of strategic study, Kuru-Jos,
to embark on pair review mechanism of
states with improve agric advantages and come up with a White-Paper that would
guide actors in Agric industry aright for the development of Agro-Allied sector
in Nigeria.
The
team submitted however that the drive was geared towards having stable
programmes that would make agricultural production at a sustainable project attractive
to both foreign and private investors in the project.
They
note with fact that their finding in Anambra, would help the team to lean new
idea to achieving robust agric development., especially in the area of
exportable products like rice, Ugwu and Saint leave, which the team promise to
leverage more in their report for other states to emulate.
Responding
on behalf of the state house of Assembly, the member representing Aniocha 1
state constituency, Engineer Charles
Ezeani described the visit as laudable, stating that it was a medium where both team were able to cross
fertilize ideas on how to move the nation agric sector forward.
He
outlined the major challenged bedeviling the growth of the sector to outright
denial of accessing loan facility for farmers, urged government to streamline
the network and make it accessible to
genuine farmers, which wil become the hallmark of achieving improve agricultural
drive to restore the nation economy.
The
team disclosed leader in an interview disclosed that the mandate giving to them
by president Muhammadu Buhari was to ensure area of strengths and weakness are
