NYCN elects new state, LG officers in Anambra


The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Anambra State council on Tuesday elected 17 officers that would pilot the affairs of the council in the state for the next four years.

In a bid to Salvage the growing mortality rate and dire consequences of sickle cell disorder in Anambra State, the Association of Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disorder has embarked on a city wide sensitization across Missionary Secondary schools in the state.  The Sensitization, which recorded a huge turn out off students and staff and Students at All Saints Seminary School Ekwulobia Aguata  and St Mary the Virgin convent Ufuma Orumba North , was aimed at Sensitizing students on the implications of Genotype and the Consequences of their ignorance to such knowledge.

Archbishop Christian Efobi of the Aguata Anglican Diocese has called on other Bishops and clergies to champion the sensitization of Sickle Cell in their various dioceses, as the advocacy is the last resort for eradicating the scourge from the society.

History was made today, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in Anambra State as its chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) elected new executive members numbering 17 that would pilot its affairs in the state for the next four (4) years.

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC, Engineer Barth Nwibe has expressed disappointment in the former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Professor Charles Soludo for misleading the people for his selfish reasons.
He described the former CBN governor as someone who lives on hope that may not be actualised in the process of politricking.
Engineer Nwibe handed down the charge at a media briefing in Awka, noted that the people will not be dampened by what he called selfish enrichment and unpatriotic form of ascending to power.

Igbo Youths Support President Buhari Continous Stay in Office

League of Igbo youths have expressed support for the continue stay in office of President Muhamadu Buhari till 2023 to pave way for an Igbo president afterwards.
They condemned the purported calls by some Igbo leaders inciting the people of the south eastern zone of the country against the president, said such calls are unpatriotic, stating it should be disregarded by all Ndigbo.

The People’s Democratic Party Chairman in Anambra state, Ken Emeakhaye has alleged a murder attempt on his life by Governor Willie Obiano over his request syance on constitutional breaches by the governor.
He solicited for security agencies support to protect him.
He said the governor threatened his life during a telephone conversation between them.

ASUU Demands Full Payment of Salary Arrears From 2015 Till Date

THE Academic staff  Union of Universities has appealed to the federal and state governments to redress issues of salary shortfalls, delays in payment of salaries and non remittance of authorized deductions amounting to 128 million naira within 2015 till date yet to be paid to its members.
They resolved to reject any further cut on their salary and emolument of their members, if urgent step is not taken to redress what they called unlawful deduction without remittance.
