Alhaji Nazeer Nuhu Bamali, The Sarikin Fada Gumel of Kano State has expressed joy at the exploits of Association of Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, who he said has created loud Awareness for the Sickle Cell Scourge across the country through her Sensitization Campaigns.
In his words during a Media Interactive Session with Aisha Edward, the Coordinator of the Association, the son of the Revered late General of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army Gen. Nuhu Bamali commended the Association for seeing that the sensitization Campaign spreads to various parts of the Country. He lamented that lack of Awareness has made the scourge a Devastating Epidemic in the North, and that the only remedy which the Association has adopted by Sensitizing citizens will go a long way to put an End to the Scourge.
He Appreciated the Association for Her Exploits, which is Gradually Penetrating the North. He also thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Gen Buratai for believing in the essence of Sickle Cell Advocacy and extending his hands of support Through Maj.Gen. Abubakar , the GOC 82 Division, and Ensuring that through the schemes of Lt. Col. Ijomanta, the Medical Commander of the Division a Strong Partnership Geared at fostering the success of the Advocacy is Initiated.
Alhaji Bamali, also Praised the efforts of the The First Lady Mrs Aisha Buhari and her Sickle Cell Pet Project in the Country and The Nigerian Senate for thinking it worthy to move a Bill for sickle cell Advocacy in the country.
He foresees that the bill when enacted will go a long way in protecting the Rights and Welfare of Persons living with sickle cell. He also promised to Support the Association in every possible way he Can, especially in the area of welfare, and creating sustainable links that will ensure the Association’s strong impact in the North.
Aisha ,Expressed Joy at the commendation, and Promised that the Association will never Neglect her Duties to her Members, as it shall always cater for the welfare and Psychological needs of Her Members, while also fighting for her rights, and advocating for a strong awareness of the disorder in the Country.
