Breaking: Justice Ademola retires as FHC Judge

Justice Adeniyi Ademola who was among eight superior court judges that were arrested after a “sting operation” the Department of State Service, DSS, conducted in October last year, has voluntarily retired from the Federal High Court bench. A few days ago, at the PDP state party secretariat in Udoka Estate, Awka, PDP held state congress to elect officers to take charge of party affairs after a long term of bickering and uncertainties, leading to the party participating in the past gubernatorial election with a caretaker committee.

But Chris Uba was alleged to have sworn that the congress would not hold, after making failed moves to hijack the congress and supplant his cronies all across the available positions in the Exco. These moves, sources affirmed, included nocturnal visits to the oil-rich southern states to prostrate for one very powerful governor and other party stakeholders that he be given the state structure of the party.

Since losing the state to Peter Obi inspired APGA following the 2003 election that temporarily produced Sen. Chris Ngige as governor, the PDP has become a workshop for “political merchants” who continue to use the party for their business interests. The PDP stalwarts who are age-long in this trend, as the last election revealed, include; Mr. Chris Uba, Nicholas Ukachukwu and brothers, Prince John Emeka, Ken Emekayi, Ben Nwankwo and recently others joined, including Sen. Stella Oduah, Ifeanyi Ubah and almost all the PDP House of Representatives members from Anambra State.
