Eneh: HURIJE Asks Police to Make Findings Public.29th Nov.2018

The Anambra State Police Command have been urged to immediately make public its findings on  the abduction and torture of social media activist, Chigozie Eneh by the agents of an Anambra politician, Chinedu Obidike.
A Human right organization, Human Rights, Liberty Access, and Peace Defenders Foundation (HURIJE), in  a statement made available to the press condemned the abduction of Eneh in Enugu by Obidigwe's thugs and some police officers from the State Police Command..
In the statement signed by its National Chairman, Dede Uzor A.Uzor, the group said abducting the social media activist without due process  was undemocratic and a clear violation of Eneh's fundamental rights.

The group said " it is a huge disrespect to constituted authority and the State Police Command. The matter should be investigated and anybody found culpable should be made to face the wrath of the law.The era of thuggery, bringadage and people taking laws into their hands should be over".
The group wondered that a man who want to be a lawmaker in a democratic set up would  easily and allegedly make himself a law breaker even with the election being around the corner.
"It is very unfortunate that Obidigwe is demarketing APGA.
It is also unfortunate and shocking that Governor Willie Obiano has allegedly outsourced his powers to charlatans. We ask APGA to immediately withdraw its  ticket from Obidigwe to redeem the image of the party already bartered by the conduct of Obidigwe. How would a supposed Law maker take a citizens to his house allegedly torture  horsewhipped him and the Governor and APGA leadership have remained silent over the matter and yet to make official public statement".
Urging them to make official statement over the unfortunate incident , the human right body demanded immediate payment of financial compensation  to the victim.
They also enjoined Eneh to drag  Obidigwe, the Police and all those involved in his illegal arrest and torture to Court for comprehensive compensation.
HURIJE expressed shock that some policemen could allow themselves to be used for this unfortunate, despicable and condemnable action, saying that the Anambra State Commissioner of Police has a lot of explanation to make, stressing that is why the Police findings on the matter must  be made public.
If any police officer, they said, is found remotely or directly involved, the Police authority should not hesitate to punish  such officer or officers.
The group however cautioned Citizen Eneh to desist from always posting offensive materials against people on the social media as well as being used by politicians to attack fellow politicians.
Eneh, they said, should toe the line of  democratic principle and respect for the rule of law to avoid unnecessary attacks by some offending politicians
