The protracted leadership crisis rocking Ohaneze
Youth Wing has finally come to an end as the leading opponent in the April 20th,
2018 Ohaneze Ndigbo national youth wing election, Honourable TonyUche Ezekwelu
has withdrawn his petitions, protest and appeal letters before the parent body
of the union .
The aggrieved aspirant in the election defended
his course, the course he feels would drive the union on the wheel of progress
but felt his appeals and petitions have been noted by the parent body of the
union, hence his action to withdraw his petitions for the union to commence
fully in earnest.
The withdrawal of Honourable TonyUche Ezekwelu was
made public in a letter sent through the Ohanaeze NEC through the President General
to Chief Dr Nnia Nwodo and made public to journalists in Enugu, requesting that the winner of the Ohaneze
Youth wing election Amb. Dr. Arthur Uchenna Obiorah should be sworn in as the
new elected president of the union and should be accorded the necessary support
to function as the leader of the group.
''This is the Final resolution followed by series
of consultations, interventions and stakeholders meetings held at various
levels in the last few months". The documents reads.
The matter which was finally laid to test at the
instance of both present and past leaders of Oheneze Ndigbo elders who all
converged on Enugu and past their resolution to the letters, not disputing some
of the issues raised in the petitions which they acknowledged would further
equip the union in future elections.
"The matter was finally laid to rest in the
historic Ohanaeze Youth Stakeholders meeting held over the weekend at Enugu
which involved all major past and present leaders of Ohanaeze Youths chaired by
Chief Barr Chika Nzelu, Chairmen with all state Youth leaders present".
"As Hon. TonyUche finally withdraws his
petitions and called for the swearing-in of Arthur Obiora which by extension
pledged his loyalty to the New Leadership, extended his brotherly hands of
fellowship and embraced his brother Arthur, the Igbo youths erupted in
jubilation and thanked TonyUche for his magnanimity, maturity and
sacrifice".
'They commended both Leaders for the maturity and
exemplary leadership qualities in the cause of the crisis and called on Igbo
political leaders to emulate this two noble Igbo sons". They added.
In his
acceptance speech at the reconvened meeting of Ohaneze youth wing worldwide which
held at the union headquarters in Enugu, the embattled national youth
president, Amb. Dr. Arthur Uchenna Obiora extolled the leadership prowess
exhibited by the petitioner and the first runner up in the April 20th
Ohaneze National youth election,
Honourable TonyUche Ezekwelu, Dr Obiorah
praised his temerity and sportsmanship he exhibited to allow peace to return to
the union.
Amb. Obiorah who could not hold back his joy after
his was reinstated as the authentic National president of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth
wing worldwide extends his hand of fellowship to other aggrieved candidates,
promised to run an open door policy to catch up with the eight months grace
that was wasted in the field of the battle to ascertain who becomes the
authentic president of the Ohaneze National youth wing .
He said its new down for the Igbo youths
worldwide, promised to deliver speedily on the core mandate for serve as the
voice Ndigbo youths would have even as the Nigeria enter a serious political
era where Ndigbo would play a major role as one of the major stakeholders in
the equation of the country .
" The president Elect Arthur Obiora on his
own declared a No Victor No Vanquished verdict while profusely commending
Ochiagha Ndintorobia for his magnanimity and commitment to the cause of Ndigbo.
‘’He extended hands of fellowship to TonyUche and
all parties involved in the struggle and appealed for their support and co-operation
of all Igbo Youths while assuring them to run an Open door government". He
assured.
The unanimous adoption by the Ohaneze Youth
Stakeholders necessitated the resolution calling on the Ohanaeze Ndigbo NEC to
urgently swearing-in Arthur Obiora by its next meeting which was taken on
Monday 3rd December 2018 at Ohanaeze Ndigbo Secretariat Enugu.
It was a celebration galore as lasting peace has
finally returned to the Ohanaeze Ndigbo
Youth Wing Worldwide.
