Anambra government says it has not recorded another reported case of Yellow fever case this year, aside the 7-year-old boy from Umunachi-Mgbaku in Awaka North Local Government of the state
The government said it have increase surveillance and provide improve awareness creation in all the 179 communities that includes disease control agent equip with modern detective gadget to ascertain the prevalence of infectious disease in the communities.
Yellow fever is an acute viral haemorrhagic fever caused by a Flavivirus and transmitted by infected Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes. The 'yellow' in it's name stems from the yellowish colouration of the eyes of infected individuals.
