Anambra berates inclusion in Yellow Fever Infected States

Anambra government says it has not recorded another reported case of Yellow fever case this year, aside the 7-year-old boy from Umunachi-Mgbaku in Awaka North Local Government of the state  
The government said it have increase surveillance and provide improve awareness creation in all the 179 communities that includes disease control agent equip with modern detective gadget to ascertain the prevalence of infectious disease in the communities.
Yellow fever is an acute viral haemorrhagic fever caused by a Flavivirus and transmitted by  infected Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes. The 'yellow' in it's name stems from the yellowish colouration of the eyes of infected individuals.

The Human Rights Access,peace and Justice Foundation otherwise called HURIJE,embarked on a peaceful protest.
The protest was to place a demand on the Federal government and EFCC in particular,to probe corruption and high level of impunity going on at NIWA.Hundreds of people trooped out to support the protest especially,aggrieved traders whose shops were demolished and contracted out to a notorious business man in Onitsha.

Eneh: HURIJE Asks Police to Make Findings Public.29th Nov.2018


The Anambra State Police Command have been urged to immediately make public its findings on  the abduction and torture of social media activist, Chigozie Eneh by the agents of an Anambra politician, Chinedu Obidike.
A Human right organization, Human Rights, Liberty Access, and Peace Defenders Foundation (HURIJE), in  a statement made available to the press condemned the abduction of Eneh in Enugu by Obidigwe's thugs and some police officers from the State Police Command..
In the statement signed by its National Chairman, Dede Uzor A.Uzor, the group said abducting the social media activist without due process  was undemocratic and a clear violation of Eneh's fundamental rights.

Nigeria's Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), reports that a yellow fever outbreak is currently active in Nigeria. Confirmed cases have been recorded in 14 States: Kwara, Kogi, Kano, Zamfara, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Niger, Katsina, Edo, Ekiti, Rivers, Anambra, FCT, and Benue; and all healthcare workers are particularly advised to be cautious and alert in their dealings with individuals, especially those coming from the affected states and presenting with the classical signs and symptoms of yellow fever.

Human Right group Urges IGP To Direct Anambra Command to Unseal State house of Assembly


The Inspector-General of Police. (IG)  has been asked to direct the Anambra State  Commissioner of police to immediately reopen the sealed State House of Assembly.
In a joint statement by Campaign for Democracy (CD), and the Human Rights, Liberty Access and Peace Defenders Foundation (HURIJE) by Dede Uzor A Uzor Chairman of HURIJE and national publicity secretary of CD, said it is constitutional for the House to affect leadership change if the leadership  breach the laws of the House.
The rights groups said the continued sealing of the House amount to  a negation of the construction and bastardisation of the democratic principle.
