The present political trajectory where the main opposition party, and the most formidable contender in the presidential election of 2019, which is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has an Igbo man, an Anambra indigene in the top echelon, as the Vice President Candidate, Sir Peter Obi CON KSS, is a great treasure, that is very supreme, and so other lesser items, could be sacrificed in preference for the Vice President prospects.

Restructuring; in governance is a system that suits the people of a particular generation. By 60 BC, Julius Ceasar became supreme and established rule of one man as Head of State. His legitimate successor, Octavius Augustus Ceaear, consolidated it and Rome progressed under wise Emperors.

The quest to set Anambra South Senatorial zone on a high national pedestal should not be based only on individual efforts, but should be anchored on the axis of our collective struggles.

A true leader is one who leads by example. Technically, leaders are appraised or judged by the economic values they bring to the organisation, government or group to which they administer. Show me a poor, impoverished and hunger-ravaged nation and I will tell you the stroy of a bad, incompetent president, governor or military administrator. For keen watchers of the unfolding politics of 2019 as it affects electioneering for Anambra South Senatorial seat, the 13 December, 2018 voiding of the All Progressives Grand Alliance’s 3rd October, 2018 primary election which duly produced Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu as APGA flag bearer for the Senate, by Justice Valentine Ashi of an Abuja High Court only confirms the endemic intrigues and obfuscating subterfuge that underscore the play of politics therein. Anambra South Senatorial Zone suffers all the malignant electoral features (excepting the bizarre phenomenon of a party’s multiple candidates for single electoral seats) obtainable in Anambra Central Senatorial seat tussle prior to the emergence of Senator Victor Umeh whose exemplary representation in the 8th Senate has largely subdued the political shenanigans and the systemic revulsions in the Zone, thereby smoothening Umeh’s track to the 9th Senate come February 2019.
