Breaking: Minimjm Wage: Strike looms as NLC, TUC, Give FG one week to conclude talks on Consequential Adjustment

Organised labour in Nigeria has given the federal government one week to conclude stalled negotiations on consequential adjustment of salaries of workers between grade 7 and 14

It rejected the Presidential Committee set up to further deliberate on the issue.

The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress rose from a meeting in Abuja insisting that the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council complete its assignment within one week.

Both unions in a statement insist 29% and not 11% increment as offered by the government to workers on grades 7 to 14 and the 6.5 % for those between 15 and 17 will subsist.

Organised labour says it may not guarantee industrial peace and harmony in the country if its demands are not met at the close of work on Wednesday:, 16 October.
