REPRESENTATION THROUGH SUPPORT OUTSIDE GOVERNMENT CHANNELS

From the time he assumed office as the member representing the good people of Idemili North and South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Ibezi  has shown uncommon commitment to his job.

Within weeks of plenary he sponsored two motions. One was on decongestion and restoration of ports in Nigeria. The other was on Sim Swap Fraud.
The first of the two motions had an Ad hoc committee set up on it and just finished its investigative tour of the ports barely a fortnight ago. He had followed the findings of the committee up, especially the concession of the Onitsha River Port with a petition.

Just yesterday he was a special guest at the Regional Nominator's Appreciation Event under the MTN Foundation: What Can We Do Together Initiative, Phase 3, Abuja.
As he was wont, he seized the opportunity to seek ways his constituency can benefit immensely from the Corporate Social Responsibilities of the giant Telecommunication Industries, especially the MTN Nigeria.

He had earlier called for the curriculum vitae of qualified persons from the constituency to see how he can fix them   with a job. That is aside the 25 he personally offered job in his constituency office at Ogidi.

He had indicated interest in building two resource centres for the scholarly giants Professors Chinua Achebe and Pius Okigbo at Ogidi and Ojoto respectively.
No greater honour would be accorded the two greats by the people when the centres are built.

Not long ago he was home at Obosi to see the devastating erosion there and what can be done to stave it off.
Earlier he had visited one or two tertiary institutions in the state in his capacity as the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Tertiary Education, to know the area government can partner with them.

The Idemili Annual Constituency Football  Competition to which he had long subscribed will commence this October. The whole idea is to promote peace and  nurture the spirit of sportsmanship among the constituents.

No doubt, the quality of representation for the people of Idemili has changed. No longer is their representative lost in the pews within the hallowed chamber. Kitaa Idemili na ebuzi uzo ogu. It is well with the constituency.
