The Nigeria’s Minster of Labour and Employment,
Dr. Chris Ngige has described the endorsement of the People’s Democratic party
candidate, Atiku Abubakar by the Ohaneze
Ndigbo as motley congregation of party men, that hurriedly took a decision without due consultation of the real Ime-Obi
Ohaneze Ndigbo.
The minister said the meeting was a congregation
of party men in Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide, constituted upon by the President
General of the union in isolation of nonmembers of the People Democratic Party,
implicitly done to pass their resolution in favour to the opposition candidate.
The minister stated this in a telephone interview
with our correspondent in Awka, said the purported decision of Ohanese Ndigbo
endorsing Atiku Abubakar of the PDP as Ndigbo choice was a distraction and
should be disregarded by well-meaning Igbo sons and daughters.
