Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kastina have intercepted large quantity of Excol and Diazepam drugs, carefully concealed inside sacks of Kola nut in Ingawa local government area of Kastina State.
NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr Sule Momodu revealed this to journalists on Monday in Kastina, the state capital, North-east Nigeria.
He said the suspect Abubakar Illiasu age 36 is an Indigene of Damtsi village of Ingawa LGA of the state, who was intercepted by operatives of the NDLEA at a stop and search exercise.
The seized items were said to have been despatched from Imo state in south east Nigeria, carefully packed in Kola nut sack bags, heading to Ingawa inside a commercial bus.
The D5 and Diazpam illicit drugs, is believed to be a supply for the bandits, militia or Boko Haram terrorists which aid them to carryout their heinous act unperturbed.
The NDLEA commandant expressed it's command determination to rid the state of drug abuse and trafficking, urged the residents to always avail his command with intelligence reports, Promised it will be handled professionally .
